Mai’s musical journey spans over a decade of classical piano training, fueled by a genuine enthusiasm for early childhood music education. Her rich background includes not only extensive experience in preschool music classes but also a deep commitment to private piano instruction for elementary to high school students.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in English Literature and minors in Drama and History, and she completed an Advanced Piano Performance Certificate at the Royal Schools of Music in London, underscoring her dedication to both the art and theory of music.
Mai’s diverse experiences extend beyond formal education. She has led children’s choirs, played keyboard, and performed as a backup singer for a church worship team during her college years. After becoming a mother, she spent five enriching years as the Preschool Ministry Director at her home church, where her faith became a central inspiration in her teaching philosophy.
Today, Mai is a passionate private piano teacher and a licensed Musikgarten instructor. She brings her expertise to several preschools, manages after-school keyboard programs, and offers engaging classes in her private home studio. Her studio caters to students from elementary to late intermediate levels, providing both private and partner piano lessons designed to inspire and nurture young musicians.
Kendrick offers private and group piano lessons for beginner and intermediate students. He is a traveling educator who offers lessons in the comfort of your home, serving areas such as Seattle, Bellevue, Issaquah, and Sammamish.
Kendrick’s passion for music began at age five, when he started piano lessons and learned the fundamentals. He later expanded his repertoire to acoustic and bass guitar, performing with his church’s worship team, and sang in a choir from high school through college. His experience includes leading sectional rehearsals and conducting. Familiarity with Western choir, jazz, and Latin styles has also inspired him to compose a diverse range of musical pieces.
Kendrick’s background in elementary education and experience co-teaching with Ms. Mai in a preschool piano program make him a compassionate, well-rounded educator. He is committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can build confidence, discover the joy of music, and develop skills that benefit them both in and beyond the piano studio.
